Flooring
A squeaky floor almost always comes down to preparation.
Hardwood, chevron and herringbone, engineered wood, large-format tile. The subfloor is checked and re-screwed before any installation, and the cuts line up from room to room.

The hold points.
Every point is checked and photographed. The photos go into your portal.
- 01Moisture of the wood and subfloor measured before installation.
- 02Subfloor re-screwed and levelled, checked with a straightedge.
- 03Pattern axis snapped with a chalk line before the first board.
- 04Tile layout approved with you before installation.
Good to know
Wood moves with humidity. That is why we let it acclimatize and keep an expansion gap under the baseboards.
Frequently asked questions
Chevron or herringbone: what is the difference?
In chevron, the board ends are cut at an angle and meet in a point. In herringbone, the rectangular boards meet at a right angle.
Can hardwood go in a basement?
We favour an engineered product or a floor covering suited to basement moisture.
When can we walk on it?
Most floors can be walked on as soon as installation is done; we give you the time for the product you choose.
What if you find a problem once things are open?
We stop the work, show you what we found and price the fix at cost, with no margin, from the amount set aside with you for surprises. We resume once you say yes.
Let's talk about your project.
A visit, measurements, then a detailed budget. If the budget does not allow the work to be done properly, we will tell you at the first meeting.
